Columbia-Howard County PFLAG Scholarship for
Outstanding LGBT Youth and Their Allies
Two Scholarships for $2,000.00 each
Deadline: May 1 of each year
Purpose
- Recognize outstanding lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and ally students
- Encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education for self-identified LGBT and allies
- Foster a positive image of the LGBT society
Eligibility
- Self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or as an ally who demonstrates outstanding support directly to LGBT society and supports equality for all)
- A Maryland resident
- Currently attending or planning to attend a post-secondary educational institution during the 2012-2013 academic year
- Must fully complete a Columbia-Howard County PFLAG Scholarship application and submit all required supplemental forms
- Cannot be receiving full tuition remission from other sources to fund the education (e.g., other full-tuition scholarships, established college trust fund, etc.)
- Cannot be a prior recipient of the Columbia-Howard County PFLAG Scholarship

The completed application must be postmarked by May 1, 2012 and mailed to:

The Scholarship Selection Committee will review all applications at once and make their final decision during the first two weeks of May. All applicants will receive written communication of the decisions made by the scholarship committee. All decisions will be sent out in the mail. The scholarship recipient will be publicly announced at the general meeting on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, and attendance at this meeting is MANDATORY.
